Jigar Mehta, a UC Berkeley alum, is in Beijing and capturing a behind the scenes look of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Here are some of his notes that correspond to the video. For more updates and information, please visit http://calbears.com-------------------------------The Olympics are clearly underway here in Beijing -- it's all people are talking about. I've been on a mission to meet to as many Cal Olympians as I can while I am here, and maybe even get my photo taken with a Cal Olympian's medal round my neck! Since most of the Cal Bears are in the middle of competing, from swimming to softball, they don't have the time (yet!) to talk to me. They are on the train-eat-sleep, repeat then compete routine. However, I had a bit of good luck, meeting two Cal Olympians, Martin Maric ('09) and Amin Nikfar ('04), outside the Olympic Village, their home in Beijing. Jamil was convicted of murdering a deputy. Jamil claimed he was set up by the FBI. The FBI agent who set Jamil up was Ron Campbell. The reason why he was convicted, is because the judge refused to listen to any conspiracy theories. The judge refused to believe police and FBI were corrupt. This is because the judge was totally ignorant of how the world works. We know for a fact that Jamil was set up, because we know how murderers think. Murderers always try to hide or destroyed the evidence. Jamil was caught four days after the shooting. The murder weapons were found next to him. His car was found fold bullet holes. Supposedly he drove his car fold bullet holes hundreds of miles without being detected. If someone commits a murder, the first thing they try to do, is hide the evidence. They burn the automobile. They send the automobile to scrap yard. A man with Jamil's power of the black Panthers, could of sold it to a chop shop. I don't think there's a member of the black Panthers who doesn't know someone with ties to a chop shop. If your a criminal and you don't know where there's a chop shop in Detroit, you're not really a criminal. Murderers do not keep the murder weapons with them, four days after the murder. They toss the weapons in a river or lake. They bury the weapons or throw them in the trash can. The judge in Jamil's case would not hear one word of the facts or any common sense, and only looked at planted evidence. It does not make sense that a murder keeps all the evidence of his crime by his side when he had plenty of time to destroyed the evidence. We all know the gloves were planted in the O.J. Simpson trial. We all know the FBI is a bunch of murderers by watching them burn down Waco and killing 93 women and children. The FBI is the most evil institution on earth. The proof of this is they support a government that collects taxes off of God's land and forces man into slavery called jobs. If there was any justice in the justice system, the day at I suffered $450 billion worth ofpain from my job injury, they would have closed down every industry, to pay it. What the FBI does not know is, that when this system is so corrupt as it is, God has no choice, but to bring fire down from heaven and have both the FBI that deceived the society, destroyed along with the society that was deceived. Both the deceiver and the deceived must be destroyed says the Lord God. Jamil was one of the black Panthers. If she's shot to white police officers, then may be I might have believed it. Because the FBI shot two black officers, then we know it's a conspiracy. When you are shot four times by someone in the dark, it is easy for the FBI to convince you that Jamil did it. [ More Detail ]
See full film here: http://www.booserver.com/projects.php?ProjectID=2771October 2006 In 2005, Idi Amin returned to Uganda in the form of actor Forest Whitaker, who's starring in the movie 'The Last King of Scotland'. The film is a thriller set in Amin's Uganda and tells the story of a fictional Scottish doctor who becomes the dictator's closest advisor. But making a movie about such a controversial figure raises a number of questions. Is it possible to separate the real Idi Amin from the strange and bizarre stories that surround him? How will Ugandans react to this interpretation of their history and how does their view of Idi Amin differ from that of the West? This documentary follows the filmmakers on location in Uganda. But it is far more than just a traditional "making of" and uses the movie as a starting point to explore the bizarre world of Idi Amin. [ More Detail ]

Long before "The Last King of Scotland" came this film- a fictional (?) look at the rule of Idi Amin. The 1980 film "Amin- The Rise and Fall" is a dramatization of the rule of dictator Idi Amin, who ruled Uganda for most of the 1970s. While this film certainly has tons of the common elements of exploitation film, it's hard to categorize it as such, since the real-life acts of Amin are so hideous that it's almost pointless to dramatize them. For some reason, I find Amin to be one of the most fascinating figures in world history. Somewhat of a footnote now, he was a big deal in the 70s and remains one of Africa's most brutal figures. While reports of Amin actually canibalizing his foes remain a bit unsubstantiated, it is true he is responsible for the murders of thousands of people, the military dictatorship of Uganda, persecution of various ethnic groups, and the invasion of Tanzania, which ensured his final downfall. Amin was exiled to Saudi Arabia, where he never stood trial for his crimes and died in 2003. Of course, the US government wants you to believe they're all about preserving freedom and protecting innocents around the world, so while our country feels the driving need to take out a loser who pales in comparison like Saddam Hussein, a maniac like Amin, responsible for much worse mayhem, rested comfortably as a special guest of our good friends in Saudi Arabia, free to die a natural death in peace. Go figure. [ More Detail ]
