this is amon düül II playing live in front of an invited audience in munich probably in 1969. this untitled jam was used in the film "niklashauser abfart" by rainer werner fassbinder in 1970. you can see and sometimes hear: renate knaup vocals / chris karrer violin / peter leopold drums / john weinzierl guitar / lothar meid bass / shrat bongoes. the guy playing maracas at the beginning of the clip might be falk rogner or dieter serfas. rainer werner fassbinder, günther kaufmann and some friends are seen smoking unaffectedly...(technical and personal fuzziness forced me to re-upload this incidence. please vote and comment again...) Amon Adonai Santos de Araujo Tobin was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He acquired the surname Tobin from his Irish stepfather. After travelling back and forth between Brazil and Portugal, he eventually relocated to England at an early age, where hip hop, jungle, blues and jazz caught his interest. He released four EPs and an album, Adventures in Foam, under Cujo moniker which he borrowed from a Stephen King novel, before he signed with Ninja Tune in late 1996. He has since released six critically acclaimed albums under his own name. He is well known for his song "Saboteur", which was featured as the main theme for the 2003 movie The Italian Job, along with the opening credits theme 'Slowly' in éS Footwear's 2000 skateboarding epic Menikmati. After a three-year hiatus from releasing any major original work, he was contracted by video game company Ubisoft to compose the soundtrack for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, released in 2005.Tobin is perhaps best known for his creative use of sampling. He uses everything from old recordings to motorcycles (Foley Room) and even the acoustics of buildings (Out From Out Where) and stretches and skews them often beyond recognition. Resonances, delays, reverbs and a wide variety of sound effects also contribute to transform what was once familiar into something grotesque and unnatural. Psychedelic ambiences are frequently blended with retro-jazz beats, creating a barrier of apparently incoherent sound layers. This uniqueness and complexity make the task of categorizing his music a difficult one. Each of his albums introduces new polyrhythms and soundscapes.Peace [ More Detail ]

Fine made, if I should say it :). I did my best to do this video as good as possible, so I hope you'd like it :), my point with this video is that you can hear the song, while following the lyrics (and probably sing along with it :]) , instead of having another internet browser with a webpage of the lyrics. So :) I hope you'd like it :)(write comments if you want :D) [ More Detail ]

Amon Amarth - ArsonThis is a repost I made with an attempt at improved sound quality. hope you like it.They came riding at first lightFifty men armed to the teethThe sounding horn called us out to fightwe went to greet them with our steelOutnumbered yet we foughtBut soon we were overrunWe took refuge in our homeOur downfall had just begunThey attacked our home, we kept them outDefending ourselves with spear and bowWe took them out one by oneAs the rising autumn sun glowedThere was twenty dead on each sideWhen we first smelled something burnWe heard them laughing from outsideTaunting us with spiteful wordsThey set the house on fireIn order to smoke us outOnly five of us was still aliveAnd our time was running outRaging flames surrounded us allOur home was under siegeCrumbling roof and burning wallsThere was no way to break freeAs we were all about to dieWe swore a sacred oathRevenge would be claimed if someone survivedAnd we sealed the oath in bloodThe roof caved in and cleared a pathA way out of the flamesIt was decided that I'd go firstAs we made for our escapedSuddenly the walls came downAnd trapped the rest insideMy closest friends died that dayOnly I made it out alive===================================Track listing Fate OF Norns"An Ancient Sign of Coming Storm" − 4:38"Where Death Seems to Dwell" -- 4:58"The Fate of Norns" -- 5:58"The Pursuit of Vikings" -- 4:30"Valkyries Ride" -- 4:57"The Beheading of a King" -- 3:24"Arson" -- 6:48"Once Sealed in Blood" -- 4:50 [ More Detail ]

Footage from Hardware (also known as M.A.R.K. 13), a post-apocalyptic science-fiction horror film from 1990, set to Amon Tobin's "Keep Your Distance" (Foley Room).Note: I was just messing around in Vegas without really knowing the software so there's more than a few editing goofs - especially @ 00:58, a few frames of opening credits that I neglected to cut. I must've blinked and missed it... Don't take it too seriously.. [ More Detail ]
