Air On A G String from J.S. Bach's Orchestral Suite in D Major BWV 1068 My guitar solo is based on an organ arr. in C Major. It's interesting to note that even though the original is in the key of D the title Air On A G String was given because a violinist in the late 19th century named August Wilhemj transposed this piece into C so he could play the entire main melody of the piece on one string! (the G string of course ;-)The sheet music to my arr. is available by sending me a message here at my YouTube pagehttp://www.youtube.com/user/GuitarRomancer [ More Detail ]

By transposing the key of the piece from its original D major to C major, Wilhelmj was able to play the piece on only one string of his violin, the G string.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~J.S.
