Katie Melua - BelfastCall of the SearchSongtext:I've got a ticket to the fast city,Where the bells don't really ring,Getting of the plane the cold air, Rushes like bullets through my brain,And I'm devidedBetween penguins en cats,But it's not about what animal you've got,It's about being able to fly,It's about dying nine times.Walked on Broadway,Going up to Falls,Where the old man I used to know,The painting on the walls of releaseAre colourful but they are no Matisse. And I'm devidedBetween penguins en cats,But it's not about what animal you've got,It's about being able to fly,It's about dying nine times. It's about being able to fly,It's about dying nine times. Opened in 2000, the Belfast Odyssey Arena by the Lagan River has hosted gigs by Bruce Springsteen, Muse, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Meat Loaf, Oasis, Elton John, Andrea Bocelli, The Killers, Westlife, the Hotpress Awards show, a few days ago it was Rihanna and in a few weeks' time, fans will be able to see Boyzone. Non-musical events such as exhibitions and athletics, tennis legends 08, Coors Belfast Giants vs Sheffield Steelers, - forthcoming events are Cirque du Soleil and Disney High School Musical -. have taken place in the multiplex version of a live venue. Tonight's concert was seated with an attendance of 18.500 people and it featured eight of the ten finalists of the X-Factor programme. The TV show was broadcast in Autumn 2007 on ITV in the UK with an average audience of ten million viewers and is based on the idea of inviting the public for singing auditions and after a series of elimination contest, whittle down the contestants to ten for the TV live shows to find the winner who gets a record contract with an affiliate of Sony Records in view of a Christmas single followed by an album the next year. The judges who decide about the musical fate of the candidates are Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue. The programme is presented by Dermot O'Leary. Tonight's show is promoted by Aiken Production and sponsored by Cool FM. we get to see the graduates of X-Factor 2007 and it felt like a high school musical. Pop at its most pop-corn. The singers are introduced by a pre-recorded Dermot O'Leary on the big screen and accompanied by a four piece band: a guitar player on gibson acoustic and fender stratocaster, a keyboard player who is the arranger, a drummer, and a bass player. The songs themselves performed by the singers in succession are cover version of popular songs, some featuring very sexy dancers (= bare-chested boys and leggy girls). This is U-certificate sexiness. The show felt very slick because the vocals were good, the stage had all sort of theatrical devices. . The audience enjoyed themselves and I couldn't help thinking that they looked very much like the big crowd of auditionees in the TV programme in the various cities. Others just looked like people who enjoyed the TV programme and the songs. All age groups were represented. It is disabled friendly, and a few people this evening were wheelchair users. I also noticed a few families with their children. Quite a few members of the audience were wearing flashing rabbit ears or light sabres. Some of the songs from the Setlist: Hope: We will rock you (Queen), Umbrella (Rihanna), Andy Williams: Night Fever (Bee Gees), Alisha: Valerie (The Zutons/Amy Winehouse), Put your records on (Corinne Bailey Rae), Futureproof: You got a friend (James Taylor/Carol King), Beverley Trottman: I'm every woman (Chaka Khan), Tokoshi and Friends: One Moment in time (Whitney Houston), Niki Evans: Hot Stuff (Donna Summer), Total Eclipse of the Heart (Bonnie Tyler), Same Difference: Wake me up before you go-go (Wham), High School musical (Disney productions), Rhydian Roberts: Go West (Village People), You raise me up (Secret Garden), Leon Jackson: The Long and Winding road (The Beatles) feat. Raquelle on piano, and When you believe (Dreamworks) The xfactor tour continues, details: http://www.xfactor.tv/news/article/?scid=335 [ More Detail ]
This is a song that has become hugely popular around me since I reheard it and got it back from my holidays. I hope you enjoy it. lyrics Tell my ma when I go home,The boys won't leave the girls alone,They pulled my hair and stole my comb,But that's all right 'till I go home. She is handsome, she is prettyShe is the belle of Belfast city,She is courting, one two threePlease won't you tell me who is she?Albert Mooney says he loves her,All the boys are fighting for her,Knock on the door and they ring the bellOh my true love, are you well? Here she comes, as white as snow,Rings on her fingers and bells on her toes,Old Johnny Mary she says she'll dieIf she doesn't get the boy with the roving eye.Tell my ma when I go home,The boys won't leave the girls alone,They pulled my hair and stole my comb,But that's all right 'till I go home. She is handsome, she is prettyShe is the belle of Belfast city,She is courting, one two threePlease won't you tell me who is she?Let the wind and the rain and the hail blow highAnd the snow come tumbling from the skyShe's as nice as apple pieShe'll get her own boy, by and byWhen she gets a lad of her own,She won't tell her ma 'till she comes home,Let the boys stay as they will,For it's Albert Mooney she loves still.Tell my ma when I go home,The boys won't leave the girls alone,They pulled my hair and stole my comb,But that's all right 'till I go home. She is handsome, she is prettyShe is the belle of Belfast city,She is courting, one two threePlease won't you tell me who is she?Tell my ma when I go home,The boys won't leave the girls alone,They pulled my hair and stole my comb,But that's all right 'till I go home. She is handsome, she is prettyShe is the belle of Belfast city,She is courting, one two threePlease won't you tell me who is she?Tell my ma when I go home,The boys won't leave the girls alone,They pulled my hair and stole my comb,But that's all right 'till I go home. She is handsome, she is prettyShe is the belle of Belfast city,She is courting, one two threePlease won't you tell me who is she?
