High quality version: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=g3UHrN0iyK4&fmt=18Lilium is the opening theme song from the anime Elfen Lied. It was originally composed by Kayo Konishi and Yukio Kondou with lyrics based on Latin biblical texts.Due to popular demand, I decided to arrange a complex piano version that captures as much detail from the original as possible. However, in doing so, I have made the piece quite challenging to play.I believe the original song was composed for either a piano quintet (2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello, 1 piano) and vocals or a string chamber ensemble plus a piano and vocals. Thus, one of the challenges in reducing this score to for solo piano was to choose the which pitches to include in order to capture the fullness of strings, while at the same time keeping in mind the constraints of the pianist (e.g. maximum stretch, pedaling with minimal blurring). The melodic line often crosses under or is surrounded by harmonizing parts. One of the most difficult passages is at bar 9 (at 0:55 and at 2:23) where the middle triplet figures are shared by both hands. The video shows screen captures of the score synchronized with the music for you to follow along. The score will be available on my website once I get some free time. If enough people are interested, I might do some more of these projects.Enjoy! [ More Detail ]

And to think, that is the better of the three screencaps...This here is my first attempt with my webcam and windows movie maker so bear with me while I get used to this. It took about 25 minutes to film and hours to edit. As you can tell I ramble and flub my words a lot...the first segment was done in the morning when there was more light but I went to work so there was less light available to work with after fact 2. I had to add some more unnatural light which is why it looks different.Fact 1: My webcam was given to me by my boyfriend (0:21)Fact 2: I have a cat (0:57)Fact 3: I play cello (1:31)Fact 4: I wear glasses (4:40)Fact 5: I work at Rite Aid (5:22)The Cello took more than 3 tries, and I do usually look like that when I play, though I was trying to smile more...Disclaimer: I do not own the Song of Storms, Zelda, or Rite Aid (Nor have I ever claimed to) so please don't sue my a$$ or accuse me of copyright infringement. I own nothing except my voice, cello, glasses, webcam and cat Ozzie. Music of "August Rush" - part 1 of 3. "August Rush" is a modern fairy-tale re-working of "Oliver Twist" - full of very interesting music. In this first segment, August (Freddie Highmore) demonstrates how he hears music in everything around him. "All you have to do is open yourself up... listen..."0:00 Hearing the music - great2:08 Can't stop2:50 Urban soundscape - great4:37 Music in the night6:08 August Rush in the park - greatMusic from "August Rush" part 2 -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwH8LXMSjDcMusic from "August Rush" part 3 -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hI86BJxMyFwComposer Mark Mancina spent over a year and a half composing the score of August Rush. "The heart of the story is how we respond and connect through music. It's about this young boy who believes that he's going to find his parents through his music. That's what drives him." The final theme of the movie was composed first. "That way I could take bits and pieces of the ending piece and relate it to the things that are happening in (August's) life. All of the themes are pieces of the puzzle, so at the end it means something because you've been subliminally hearing it throughout the film."Browse the 60+ playlists at our BestArts channel for more great dance, film, music and musical theatre performances:http://www.youtube.com/bestarts [ More Detail ]
I love the film Truly Madly Deeply with Alan Rickman and Juliet Stevenson in and i love the Alter Bridge song 'In Loving Memory'. I just happened to be listening to the song whilst watching the film and that's when i had the idea to put the two together because i think they both compliment each other really well. I was gonna put one of my songs to the film originally but i thought that this one was deeper and emphasised the emotion i wanted to capture from the film.( By all means check out my music @ http://www.myspace.com/claireboswell there's a couple of demos and some live songs but i'll have some proper recordings up in a few months.)Anyway back to the video. Those of you who have seen the film will know it's about a woman who can't come to terms with the loss of her husband and just when she can no longer stand the pain he comes back from the dead as seen at 1:00 into this video. I'm sorry the quality isn't too good, haven't got to grips with using I-movie yet! But i would really recommend seeing this film!! It's great!! =0)Anyway this goes out to anyone who has ever lost someone they loved in whatever way. Bless you....COMMENTS ARE WELCOME!!! =0) [ More Detail ]
