Welders from Reliquary of Labor is a section from an hour long multi-media work commissioned by the Museum of American Art in New Britain, Connecticut USA in 2006 to celebrate their new building. The work was a collaborative effort between media artist, Gene Gort, composer, Ken Steen and e-cellist, Jeffrey Krieger. This version with electronic percussion traveled to India in March of 2008 on a US Embassy sponsored tour. The full version can be found at www.reliquaryoflabor.net. [ More Detail ]
This piece is dedicated to my great friend Paul for enhancing my happiness, furthering my understanding of the world, and encouraging my personal growth.Although I do not as yet have a group with whom to perform / record this, I hope that the electronic instruments will provide a good representation of what the piece is supposed to sound like. The instrument parts are represented as follows:flute - orange trianglesEnglish horn - green triangles (note: the computerized English horn sounded like a harmonica, so I used oboe)violin - blue diamondscello - pink circlesThe sheet music is available by contacting me through YouTube or by email (newedit617 at yahoo dot com). I can easily transcribe for other instrumentation, as well. Please visit my page for more compositions and arrangements: http://newedit617.googlepages.com/compositions [ More Detail ]

Trio for Cello and Digital Processor plays with rhythmic hockets and explores the sonorous possibilities of the cello. The digital processor is not intended to actually alter the cello sound in any significant way; rather, it sends the cello sound to the left and right speakers a half second and a full second later than the original acoustic sound. The resulting piece is in effect a cello trio, although it would be virtually impossible to accurately coordinate three live players to the degree required in the piece. The piece's harmonic palette is wide; at various points references to music as diverse as Varese's Poeme Electronique and Bach's chorale Es ist genug are incorporated into the texture.PART 1 IS AT:youtube.com/watch?v=wMg28Nt7LfASTEREO VERSION OF ENTIRE PIECE IS A AVAILABLE AT:www.vimeo.com/1656195 [ More Detail ]
