What I'm trying to do, is create inexpensive instruments that I can donate to schools in the inner city Los Angeles. I want to give kids who do not have enough money to buy an instrument an opportunity to create music. That is why I'm figuring out ways to use common hardware store materials to build instruments at low cost. So far I've designed an acoustic violin, guitar, and ukulele using Gatorade bottles as acoustic resonators, and using piezo transducers from radio shack to electrify the larger bass instruments. I plan on creating an orchestral strings section with the use of ABS plastic piping for the body, shock cord and fishing line for strings, and a $2.00 piezo pickups for amplification. Each instrument costs 30 to 60 dollars depending on the instrument. If you plan on making the instrument for recreation only, then the plan's cost $20.00 and that money goes directly to the cause. If you plan on making the instruments to help me out with labor, the $20.00 will be refunded once you send the instrument to me . If you wish to aid in my efforts to give kids an opportunity to make music you can either donate through paypal to: or make the instruments yourself and send them to me.The plans have step by step picture illustrations as well as measurements, close up sketches, and lists of both materials and tools needed to create these wonderful instruments. 'Senta's Elegy' was played at the 50th birthday of Marc van Delft for the 48th birthday of Ria Alsemgeest by Marc van Delft-piano and Elisabeth Wiklander-cello.This piece was written for Ria, for her birthday, which was celebrated on the same evening as Marc's 50th birthday at 4-4-08 at 'Aardewerk' in The Hague (The Netherlands).Marc has written for Ria's birthday 2 pieces: 'Prelude for Senta' &'Senta's Elegy', because Ria is fond of cello. This piece has a very melancholic character because Ria is fond of the Slavonic melancholy of Pärt and Gorecky.-It is a pity that the beginning of the piece [the entrance for piano] has not been filmed.
