Хотя, скорее это не группа, а семейный подряд дуэт композитора, аранжировщика, автора поэтических текстов и просто милой девушки Кэндис Найт и легендарного гитариста «Deep Purple» и «Rainbow» Ричи Блэкмора. Диск пришел от Blackmore productions Minstrel hall music. Именно этот отправитель был указан на почтовой упаковке. Диск издан немецким лэйблом SPV, который не поленился издать отдельно промо-версию альбома с грозной надписью красного цвета «+++ For promotional use only!...Must be returned on demand of record company.+++». Забавно, впервые вижу такое условие. Надеюсь, что не дойдет до того, что SPV потребует от меня вернуть им диск. Посмотрим. :) На просторах СНГ этот альбом распространяет компания «Союз». Большой им привет! Надеюсь на расширение нашего взаимодействия в ближайшем будущем, благо повод имеется.Теперь о самом альбоме. Вполне обычный альбом, ничем не хуже предыдущих.Очень пафосный и масштабный по своей форме (всякие хоровые штучки и прочее) и, возможно, по содержанию, первый трэк альбома «God Save The Keg» (кто такой Keg и зачем его спасать, не понятно), наверное, призван объяснить и оправдать поступок Ричи Блэкмора и Кэндис найт (или же компании SPV), которые стиль альбома определили как «Classic Prog». Действительно, трэк тянет на это стилистическое обозначение, хотя не совсем понятно, каковы критерии отнесения того или иного произведения к этому стилю. Ну да ладно, это мелочи, волнующие наверное только журналистов и злобных критиков.Второй трэк называется «Locked Within The Crystal Ball», но я бы его назвал иначе -- «Ричи Блэкмор проснулся», примерно так :). Короче, взялся товарищ Блэкмор за старое, изредка в творчестве Blackmore's Night он перетаскивает одеяло на себя, вспоминая прошлые свои подвиги в «Deep Purple» и «Rainbow». В этом и ещё в 9 трэке торчат хардроковские ушки, небрежно прикрытые кепкой с эмблемкой «Blackmore's Night». Настоящий роковый драйв и разумная агрессия прошлых легендарных времен.Трэтий трэк нечто приятное, но невразумительное. А вот третий шокировал явно слаявнским звучанием (цимбалы, балалайка и сама мелодия без предупреждения родили во мне ассоциации о какой-то известной песенке «виновата ли я ..... что-то вроде того». Wildest Ritchie Blackmore solo ever
As a massive Ritchie Blackmore fanatic (Deep Purple/ Rainbow/ Blackmore's Night), I would have to say that, in my humble opinion, this is THE wildest (and fastest...and "jazziest") Ritchie Blackmore solo I have ever seen or heard...well, on film/ video, at least. And, to think: this is from 1970. The man is a genius! Wild abandon, killer scales, bends, jazzy playing, classical, country, "God Save The Queen", ONE HANDED WHILE DRINKING A BEER (no joke!), etc. :)[and, hey, humor me: check out some of my playing.
