Nino Rota was much more than simply the composer of The Godfather, Romeo &Juliet and the films of Fellini. This is an overview of some of his major movie themes. Rota was also a publically known and celebrated classical composer from the age of 11, and a long time educator including director of a conservatory.This video is comprised of 20 second samples from various tracks across an array of CDs. No copyright infringement is intended. Label and cover have been clearly provided to assist interested parties in seeking out and purchase the recordings for themselves (more sales = more recordings for me to enjoy :). Victor Young &His Orchestra - Why Do I Love You
Victor Young (second picture) was an American composer, arranger, violinist and conductor. He began his career as a classical composer and concert violinist but moved into the popular music sphere when he joined Ted Fio Rito's orchestra. In the mid-30's he went to Hollywood making recordings of light music and providing backing for popular singers, including Bing Crosby. His compositions include "When I Fall in Love", "Blue Star", "Sweet Sue", "Can't We Talk It Over", "Street of Dreams", "Love Letters", "Around the World", "My Foolish Heart", "Golden Earrings", "Stella by Starlight", "Moonlight Serenade" and "I Don't Stand a Ghost of a Chance with You". Frank Munn (fourth picture), made a lot of recordings as a dance band vocalist, and worked for radio broadcasts. He was popular until the mid-30's. (Countess) Olga Albani (third picture) received a nobiliary title as a result of her marriage to a Spanish count. She frequently performed on radio and recorded with Victor as a solo artist and as a vocalist for the High Hatters. This lovely record was made for Columbia in 1932. [ More Detail ]
