Vorschau:Die Geschichte von „Wilde Unschuld" setzt in der frühen Kindheit von Tony (Eddie Redmayne) ein. Die Kinderstube von Tony ist bereits durch die Eskapaden seiner Mutter Barbara (Julianne Moore) getrübt. Das ganze Familienleben wird von Barbara gleich einem Schmierentheater inszeniert, in dem die Etikette immer mehr Wichtigkeit erlangt. Durch die große Erbschaft aus dem Industriebetrieb des Großvaters von Familienoberhaupt Brooks Baekeland (Stephen Dillane) sind die Wege in die obere Gesellschaftsschicht auf Dauer geebnet. Doch von Beginn an fällt Barbara aus dem Rahmen. Durch ihre Herkunft und ihre Unwissenheit über die richtigen Verhaltensweisen in der Bohème isoliert sie sich und Tony mehr von solchen Kreisen, als dass sie Eingang darin finden. Als Tony im Jugendalter erste homosexuelle Regungen auslebt, distanziert sich Vater Brook ebenfalls immer mehr von seinem Sohn. Der endgültige Bruch zwischen den beiden vollzieht sich, als Brooks mit der ersten ernsthaften Liebschaft, die Tony als junger Erwachsener zu einer Frau hat, durchbrennt. Die Liebe seiner Mutter zu Tony ist jedoch über alle Vorkommnisse erhaben, und verstärkt sich zusehends. Nach und nach verliert Tony jeglichen festen Halt und irrt zwischen Drogenkonsum und homosexuellen Beziehungen umher.
