THIS IS AN ORIGINAL PIECE. READ DESCRIPTION. {Please rate and comment}.Hey all. My third and longest piece to date is here. The theme for Vigil and the wonderful conversation Shepard has with him. I aimed for a sound that was peaceful and meditative, yet unsettling at the same time. Lots of drawn out strains of synthetic and bass sounds contributed to the atmosphere of respite from battle and revelation. This was also my first time experimenting with vocal/choral instruments to embellish the music with the feeling that you aren't alone. My main inspiration was Hans Zimmer's "The Burning Bush," of the Prince of Egypt and general New Age tone.Coming up is an action-packed (and much more dynamic) piece. I'm still trying to get better at crafting multi-layered action music. It's a long, slow process. Thanks for watching.{DISCLAIMER}-Mass Effect, and all subsequent awesomeness belongs to Bioware Almighty. None of the characters or concepts belong to me. The music is mine. [ More Detail ]

Come, Gather Round Me , Parnellites...A Ballad To Be Sung With Much DrinkBorn in Braintree, Essex, in January 1846, Katharine Wood was well connected. She first met Charles Stewart Parnell in 1880. She had been married to Captain William O'Shea , but to a avoid a life of unhappiness they were separated or in the process of such a separation. Parnell loved Katharine O' Shea deeply. The couple had three children.Although accounts differ as to how Captain O'Shea felt about his wife's intrigue , he vacillated between challinging Parnell to a duel in 1881 to remaining publicly silent about it until he filed for divorce in 1889. In any event the love- affair brought down Parnell, who had agitated for Irish freedom so successfully, that he became known as the 'uncrowned king of Ireland'. One of his devoted supporters was John Stanislaus Joyce, father of James Joyce. Honourable though the affair was, it was used by the moralists of the day on both sides of the Irish sea to retard the Irish Home Rule movement and, of course, destroy the secular Irish leader. it also had a negative efffect on Stanislaus Joyce. It made him virtually 'berufsverboten' or unemployable. Stanislaus' loyalty to Parnell meant challenging the Irish Catholic bishops and their endless supply of unforgiving liege zealots. James Joyce, who watched the effects of the secular failure of Parnell against both Victoran morality and Roman Catholic conservatism, never forgot how easy it was for the religious in Ireland to control the people. But in this Ballad , it is William Butler Yeats who rounds most effectively on the Irish bishops. Yeats, a conservative, did not like the RCC's dishonourable interference in Irish political life -- and in his poem addressed to the suppressed 'drinking classes', he makes his feelings clear. (If we contrast RCC 'values' a century later , we find that the Catholic Bishops are as protective of widespread clerical pedophelia as they had been denunciatory of Parnell's very natural proclivities). In 1914 Katharine O' Shea published a biography of Parnell as "Katharine O'Shea (Mrs Charles Stewart Parnell)". To her friends she was known as Katie O'Shea. Parnell's righteous enemies, however, called her 'Kitty O'Shea'. According to Wikipedia, this was a name used to damage both him and her personally, ' because at that time "kitty", as well as being an Hiberno-English version of Catherine/Katherine/Katharine, was also a slang term for a prostitute. She lived the rest of her life in relative obscurity, and is buried in Littlehampton, Sussex, England.'Wikepedia :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitty_O'Sh eaCategory: MusicTags: James Joyce Charles Stewart Parnell Ireland Freedom Catholic Church [ More Detail ]

This is a video Showing a Top Gear (vignette) style of efffect you can do with sony vegas pro 8.Ok the first effect, (cool colors/over exsposed) Was done using using these video effects: (Studio RGB to Computer RGB) Its in the (Color Correction) Tab. Next Under (Light Rays) Tab add the(Spotlight with feather) effect to your clip, and adjust the propertys of this effect, adjust the (Light source)to (X 0.461 and Y 0.625) Set the (Sensitivity) full, Set (Strength) 0. Set (Radious X) to 0.792, Set (Radious Y) to 0.683, And Feather at 0.644. and Finaly Set blind to 0.307 and and keep noise 0.Now under (Gradiant Map) Tab, Add the (Over exsposed) effect to your clip. Set (Amount) to 0.7960. And play with the adjustments for the (1 2 and 3) untill it looks good.Thats it for that effect! Pretty simple! Now for the (Warm Colors) Effect.Add these effects:Studio RGB to Computer RGB) Under the(Color Correction) Tab.Now under (LightRays) add (Spotlight with feather) again Just like the last effect. The propertys of this on mine was: (Light Source) was X 0.447 and Y0.525. (Sensitivity) Full, (Strength) 0. (Radious X) 1.000, (Radious Y) 0.584. (Blend) 0.138. and (Noise) 0.Now Under (Gradiant Map) Tab add (Warm) to your video, I dont have specs for this, So just move the (1 and 2) around alittle untill it looks how you want. Now Finaly, Under (Color Curves) Tab add the (Warm Colors) And just move the uper and lower ajustment arms on the graph down a little and play with it untill it looks right.Thats it for the Effects, Its not complicated AT ALL, I know it looks like alot of details but I just wanted to be very specific on how this specific one was done so anybody can do it. I actualy threw this video togeather in about 5min, And im no Professional with Sony Vegas So its pretty easy. Also you dont have to use my exact settings, thats just there as an example, Just play around with these effects and you can make alot of cool looking videos. Thanks for watching, Please Rate and comment if you like it.
