Crosby Stills and Nash released their first album in May of 1969. To design the album cover, they picked good friends Gary and Henry, a couple of crazy fun loving guys with little experience. This video clip is from a film I made with with Gary, Henry, their friend Peter, and my business partner Terry Schwartz called Under the Covers. This clip is the funny story of how that album came together. It includes music cuts and interviews with David Crosby and Graham Nash, plus some rare photos of Mama Cass, Jonie Mitchell and 8mm footage from Henry's extensive rock photography archive. If you want to see more of Henry's photos and perhaps buy a large format collectors piece, please visit his website http://www.morrisonhotelgallery.com/ [ More Detail ]

Forgive me if my fantasies might seem a little shopwornI'm sure you've heard it all before. I wonder what's the right formLove songs written for you, it's been going down for yearsBut to sing what's in my heart seems more honest than the tears.I am curious, don't want to hurry us.I'm intrigued with us.Ain't this song a bust.I don't care, dark star.I met you several years ago,The times they were so strange, but I had a feeling. You looked into my eyes just once,An instant flashing by that we were stealing.Another time you felt so bad,And I wasn't any help at all as I recall. We didn't quite know what to do so we left the wanting beStill there for me and you.Dark star, I see you in the morning,Dark star, a' sleeping next to me.Dark star, let the memory of the eveningBe the first thing that you think ofWhen you open up your smile and see me, dark star. It's easy to be with youEven with the storms that rage beneath your search for peace. We must make some time togetherTake the kids and find a world that's ours to keep. Now you've got me dreaming girl. It's been so long that I thought that I'd forgotten how.My heart is once again my soul.We touched, we did, you know we did, no more teasing now.Dark star, I see you in the morning,Dark star, a' sleeping next to me.Dark star, let the memory of the eveningBe the first thing that you think ofWhen you open up your smile and see me, dark star.Crosby, Stills, Nash - VocalsStephen Stills - Acoustic Lead GuitarDavid Crosby - Acoustic Rhythm GuitarCraig Doerge - Electric PianoGeorge Perry - BassJoe Vitale - Drums, OrganRuss Kunkel - Congas [ More Detail ]
Here's Sam and I's cover of the acoustic Crosby &Nash song "Southbound Train", which has my favourite harmonica of all time. Crosby, Stills and Nash (and Young) [CSNY], and all their derivatives, have certainly made my favourite music. This was our seventh or so live take, and we certainly didn't surpass the Crosby and Nash version, but we thoroughly enjoyed doing it, and we hope you enjoy listening to it.Visit Sam's solo series at http://www.myspace.com/sammymontanaro [ More Detail ]

1969.Written by Neil Young. Performed by David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young on David Steinberg's show. This is the video that really kicked off my interest in Mr. Young. In case you don't already know, Neil's the one on lead vocals. Neil is so, so, so handsome. G-uh. Don't get me wrong, David, Steve and Graham are amazing, but something about Neil just *gets* me.
