Get your own vial of Tru Blood:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230267235538&ssSo, HBO is making a tv serious out of the Southern Vampire books and is calling it "True Blood" right? Well, that wasn't the first thing on my mind when I received a mysterious envelope a couple weeks ago at my po box. Velum envelope, black envelope inside, sealed with a wax seal and inside that a velum sheet filled with runes or lettering of some sort. Nothing else. No explanation, no meaning. I thought maybe it was some odd art project since I do participate in various snail mail communities.Well flash forward to today. When I get the other items from my po box and inside is a bubble wrap envelope with a tube and a sample of "TRU BLOOD" within. Ah...now it makes sense. Having read the books, I knew it was all part of a terribly clever marketing campaign. And it let me google and find others who had received the "red seal" letters. It's just terribly neat to see creative campaigns like this. The quality of the materials is top notch so they really didn't skimp on it. I had no idea I'd be part of it when I received the first item, but it's definitely pretty cool and I give points for the creativity of it.Here's some other sites discussing the mailings:http://screenrant.com/archives/is-this-a-new-movie-viral-camp-1666.htmlhttp://www.sfuniverse.com/2008/05/26/the-mystery-of-the-red-seal-letters/http://www.yesbutnobutyes.com/archives/2008/05/strange_mail.htmlhttp://jchutchins.net/site/2008/05/21/videopdf-down-the-rabbit-hole/Pretty cool right?
