Howl's Moving Castle (ハウルの動く城, Hauru no Ugoku Shiro?) is a 2004 Japanese animated fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibli and based on Diana Wynne Jones' novel of the same name. Mamoru Hosoda, director of two seasons and one movie from the Digimon series, was originally selected to direct but abruptly left the project, leaving the then retired Miyazaki to take up the director's role. This is not bashing Pixar. I'm calling out all those moronic film critics praising Wall-E as something that hasn't been done before when they're dead wrong. It's not Pixar's fault American Critics are ignorant morons!I say "depth and profoundness" a lot. Wall-E is actually directed by the same guy who directed Finding Nemo, Andrew Stanton. It's also an anecdote of John Lasseter's that Pixar screens a Miyazaki movie when they're having creative troubles. [ More Detail ]
In this 4th episode of the 3rd series we first see a veteran actress Yuko Tanaka (Lady Eboshi) gets advised by Miyazaki not to act too much like ''Takarazuka''. Takarazuka is shortened for ''Takarazuka Revue (宝塚歌劇団)'', that is an all-female professional theatre performance group (generally famous for its own very strict internal rules and very elaborate theatrical acting/ performances). Shortly after, Director recognises because Tanaka-san was trying too much to make a bold, masculine voice for Lady Eboshi, her voice sounded Takarazuka-like as a result...Lady Eboshi has faced loads of misfortunes in her past (Please refer to 2-10/15 for more details of Lady Eboshi's background) and for that reason, her voice becomes very enraged and desperate when she says to Ashitaka, ''Enough for a show of your small misfortune!''A cow keeper Koroku is played by a great actor Masahiko NISHIMURA, whose shouting, screaming acting amazes all in here. Nishimura also makes a surprise improvisation and Miyazaki seems to love it and so does Producer Suzuki!Lastly, we recognise Princess Mononoke as a completed 144,000 cel animation film but at the stage of just months before its premiere release, we now know the film had been far from its complesion. So much striving of more than the best each Ghibli staff could make is significant here.Enjoy this great seires anyhow then (; [ More Detail ]
A test screening of the Korean / Japanese film "Virgin Snow," was held for press members on April 6th 2007. The event was attended by the movie's two main stars, Miyazaki Aoi and Lee Jun Ki. Singer Moriyama Naotaro was also at the event, and charmed the audience by singing the movie's theme song, "Mirai - Kaze no Tsuyoi Gogo ni Umareta Sonet." The press conference expressed the film's theme of culture and language barrier, as Lee Jun Ki answered questions in the Korean language. Regarding their characters' story, Miyazaki Aoi commented that language is a wall which allows people to make better effort to understand one another; It is not an obstacle, but an opportunity to deepen one's relationship. Hope you like. [ More Detail ]
*PLEASE READ BEFORE WATCHING!*"Howl's Moving Castle" is a Japanese anime film based on an English book and what I've done is used to audio from the English version of the trailer and used Doctor Who clips on top of it. I was inspired by a video someone made of Doctor Who clips with the Pride and Prejudice trailer, and I thought this film was perfect for me to have a go with. If you haven't seen the film you probably wont get this, but the idea is that in the film the main character gets turned into an old woman, so in this I've done it so that Martha turns into Rose, lol. Sorry if it's comfuzzling! Hopefully you'll just find it something a bit different! Sorry about the small editing glitch too and the fact that I used one clip twice, I couldn't be bothered to fix it!
